FAIR DS @ CoRDI

Bei der 1st Conference on Research Data Infrastructure (CoRDI) in Karlsruhe war FAIR Data Spaces Teil der Posterpräsentation am ersten Veranstaltungstag. An den drei Konferenztagen gab es spannende Diskussionen zu Chancen und Herausforderungen beim Datenaustausch. Ein technischer Aspekt wurde in einem Vortrag zum Aruna Object Storage vorgestellt. Dieser bildet ein verteiltes, Cloud-natives, skalierbares und domänenunabhängiges Objektspeichersystem und ist Teil der FAIR DS Architektur. At the 1st Conference on Research Data Infrastructure (CoRDI) in Karlsruhe, FAIR Data Spaces was part of the poster presentation on the first day of the event. Over the three days of the conference, there were exciting discussions on the opportunities and challenges of data exchange. One technical aspect was presented in a talk on Aruna Object Storage. The Aruna Object Storage forms a distributed, cloud-native, scalable and domain-independent object storage system and is part of the FAIR DS architecture. FAIR DS @ Digitalgipfel

Ende November fand der zweitägige Digitalgipfel in Jena statt. Zum ersten Mal gab es einen Markt der digitalen Möglichkeiten, auf dem sich über 50 Aussteller mit ihren aktuellen Forschungsaktivitäten präsentieren konnten. FAIR DS war mit dabei und stellte den FAIR DS Demonstrator zur plattformübergreifenden Datenanalyse vor. Grundlage hierfür ist der Personal Health Train (PHT), bei dem die zu analysierenden Gesundheitsdaten beim Dateneigner verbleiben. Statt einer zentralen Datensammlung wird dagegen der Algorithmus zu den Daten gebracht. Dadurch wird der Datenschutz und die Souveränität der Daten respektiert. Der PHT-Ansatz beschränkt sich jedoch nicht nur auf Analysen im Bereich der Gesundheitsdaten, sondern kann in jeder Domäne angewendet werden, in der verteilte Daten analysiert werden müssen. Dies zeigt die Platform for Analytics and Distributed Machine Learning for Enterprises (PADME), an der auch FAIR DS Teilnehmende beteiligt sind.

FAIR DS @ Digitalgipfel

The two-day Digital Summit took place in Jena at the end of November. For the first time, there was a market of digital opportunities where over 50 exhibitors presented their current research activities. FAIR DS was there and presented the FAIR DS demonstrator for cross-platform data analysis. The basis for this is the Personal Health Train (PHT), in which the health data to be analyzed remains with the data owner. Instead of centralized data collection, the algorithm is brought to the data. This respects the privacy and sovereignty of the data. However, the PHT approach is not limited to analyses in the field of healthcare data, but can be used in any domain in which distributed data needs to be analyzed. This is demonstrated by the Platform for Analytics and Distributed Machine Learning for Enterprises (PADME), in which FAIR DS participants are also involved.

Umfrage zu ELSA Curriculum

Teil von FAIR Data Spaces ist die Entwicklung eines ELSA Curriculums für Datenwissenschaftler. Eine erste Version des Curriculums ist bereits auf der Zenodo Community von FAIR DS zu finden. Aktuell läuft dazu eine Umfrage mit dem Ziel, Informationen zur bedarfsorientierten Ausrichtung solcher ELSA-Schulungen zu erhalten, um nachfolgend den Lehrplan anzupassen. Die Umfrage dauert etwa 5min. Hier geht es zur Umfrage.

Survey on ELSA Curriculum

Part of FAIR Data Spaces is the development of an ELSA curriculum for data scientists. A first version of the curriculum can already be found on the Zenodo Community of FAIR DS. A survey is currently being conducted with the aim of obtaining information on the needs-oriented orientation of such ELSA training courses in order to subsequently adapt the curriculum.
