DMP4NFDI wurde für die Integrationsphase akzeptiert

 Base4NFDI freut sich, bekannt geben zu können, dass der Basisdienstantrag nach der Entscheidung der Konsortialversammlung für die Finanzierung der Integrationsphase akzeptiert wurde. Herzlichen Glückwunsch an das Basisdienst-Team! Dieser Schritt stellt einen Zuwachs in der NFDI-Initiative zum Aufbau von Basisdiensten für Konsortien dar und unterstützt die Bemühungen, FDM-fähige Dienste für die gesamte deutsche Forschungslandschaft zu schaffen.

DMP4NFDI bietet Tool-Hosting für Datenmanagementpläne, Standardisierung von Vorlagen, Support und Training für NFDI-Konsortien.

DMP4NFDI accepted for Integration Phase

 Base4NFDI is delighted to announce that the basic service proposal has been accepted for funding of the Integration Phase following the Consortia Assembly’s decision. Congratulations to the basic service team! This marks a growth in the NFDI’s initiative to build basic services for consortia and demonstrates a step forward in the efforts to create RDM-enabling services from across the German research landscape.

DMP4NFDIwill provide tool hosting for data management plans, template standardisation, support and training for NFDI consortia.

NFDI im Koalitionsvertrag

Wir freuen uns sehr darüber, dass NFDI im Koalitionsvertrag von CDU, CSU und SPD genannt wird. Wörtlich heißt es auf Seite 80: „Wir werden die Aktivitäten für die Nationale Forschungsdateninfrastruktur (NFDI) verstetigen.“

We are very pleased that NFDI is mentioned in the coalition agreement between the CDU, CSU and SPD. It states on page 80: ‚We will continue the activities for the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI).

Zehn NFDI-Helpdesks stärken ihre Zusammenarbeit mit dem Geo-Chem-Life Science Helpdesk Cluster

Um Forschende fachübergreifend unterstützen zu können, intensivieren zehn NFDI-Helpdesks ihre Zusammenarbeit mit dem Geo-Chem-Life Science Helpdesk Cluster.

Diese dynamische und kollaborative Form der Zusammenarbeit wurde nun auch formal gefestigt: In einem neuen Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) bekennen sich die zehn Konsortien – DataPLANT, FAIRagro, GHGA, NFDI4Biodiversity, NFDI4BioImage, NFDI4Chem, NFDI4Earth, NFDI4Health, NFDI4Immuno und NFDI4Microbiota – zu einem langfristigen Netzwerk. Unter dem Titel Geo-Chem-Life Science Helpdesk Cluster entsteht so ein interdisziplinäres Unterstützungsangebot für Forschende mit fächerübergreifenden Anliegen. Ziel des Clusters ist es, den Erstkontakt zwischen der Wissenschaft und der NFDI passgenauer zu gestalten, Ressourcen effizient zu bündeln und Expertise aus verschiedenen Disziplinen flexibel zugänglich zu machen.

Ten NFDI helpdesks strengthen their cooperation with the Geo-Chem-Life Science Helpdesk Cluster

Ten NFDI helpdesks are intensifying their collaboration with the Geo-Chem-Life Science Helpdesk Cluster in order to provide researchers with interdisciplinary support.

This dynamic and collaborative form of co-operation has now also been formally consolidated: In a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the ten consortia – DataPLANT, FAIRagro, GHGA, NFDI4Biodiversity, NFDI4BioImage, NFDI4Chem, NFDI4Earth, NFDI4Health, NFDI4Immuno and NFDI4Microbiota – have committed themselves to a long-term network. Under the title Geo-Chem-Life Science Helpdesk Cluster, an interdisciplinary support service for researchers with interdisciplinary concerns is being created.

The aim of the cluster is to make the initial contact between the scientific community and the NFDI more tailored, to pool resources efficiently and to make expertise from different disciplines flexibly accessible.

Text- und Data-Mining (TDM) ingenieurwissenschaftlicher Publikationen

TDM-Methoden bieten das Potenzial, automatisiert neue Erkenntnisse aus Publikationen zu gewinnen. NFDI4ING entwickelt die rechtlichen und technischen Grundlagen, um Ingenieurwissenschaftliche Literatur für diesen Zweck zugänglich zu machen. Automated data and knowledge discovery in engineering literature

Text and data mining methods offer the potential to gain new insights from publications. NFDI4ING is developing the legal and technical basis for making engineering literature accessible for this purpose. Ab sofort ist die von NFDI4Memory kuratierte Sammlung von von Lehr- und Lernmaterialien für die Vermittlung von Datenkompetenzen in den historischen Disziplinen verfügbar. Entwickelt von der Task Area Data Literacy von NFDI4Memory, macht die Plattform relevante Open Educational Resources (OER) leicht zugänglich und durchsuchbar. NFDI Physical Sciences Joint Colloquium with Prof. Isao Tanaka

This month, the Physical Sciences in NFDI colloquium series continued with a lecture by Prof. Isao Tanaka, hosted by the FAIRmat consortium. His talk, titled „Recommender System for Discovery of New Inorganic Compounds,“ attracted a wide audience both in person in Berlin and online.

Our collaboration with fellow NFDI consortia — DAPHNE4NFDI, MaRDI, NFDI-MatWerk, NFDI4Cat, NFDI4Chem, and PUNCH4NFDI — brings together leading experts in research data management for the physical sciences, sharing insights with audiences in Germany and beyond.

In diesem Monat wurde die Kolloquiumsreihe Physical Sciences in NFDI mit einem Vortrag von Prof. Isao Tanaka fortgesetzt, organisiert vom FAIRmat-Konsortium. Sein Vortrag mit dem Titel „Recommender System for Discovery of New Inorganic Compounds“ zog ein großes Publikum sowohl vor Ort in Berlin als auch online an.

Unsere Zusammenarbeit mit den NFDI-Konsortien DAPHNE4NFDI, MaRDI, NFDI-MatWerk, NFDI4Cat, NFDI4Chem und PUNCH4NFDI vereint führende Expert:innen im Forschungsdatenmanagement der Physikalischen Wissenschaften, um ihre Erkenntnisse mit einem Publikum in Deutschland und darüber hinaus zu teilen.

NFDI4Culture sorgt für Datenqualität

Datenqualitätsmanagement ist eine Kernaufgabe der NFDI und insbesondere auch von NFDI4Culture – doch wie lässt sich fundiert und transparent evaluieren, welches Maß an Qualität Forschungsdaten im Einzelnen aufweisen? NFDI4Culture entwickelt einen Ansatz zur metrischen Erfassung der Qualität von Kulturdaten, der die Datenqualität in der Zusammenschau verschiedener Repositorien sowie nationaler und europaweite Akteure wie der Deutschen Digitalen Bibliothek, NFDI4Objects, der European Open Science Cloud und Europeana anheben soll.

Unter diesem Gesichtspunkt öffnet NFDI4Culture das Online-Forum „Qualität von Kulturdaten messen – aber wie?“ am 19./20.05.2025 für Betreibende von Datenplattformen und -repositorien, die vor grundlegenden Fragen nach Indikatoren, Prüfung und Sicherung ihrer Datenqualität stehen, aber auch für Vertreter:innen aus der Wissenschaft, die ihre Daten mit guter Qualität in entsprechende Angebote integrieren möchten. Im gemeinsamen Austausch zu den aktuellen Perspektiven auf das Messen von Kulturdatenqualität können Konzepte, Methoden, Potentiale sowie der Ansatz von NFDI4Culture für Datenqualität bei Dateninformationsportalen und Repositorien sowie die Datenintegration in den Culture Knowledge Graph erörtert werden.

NFDI4Culture promotes data quality

Data quality management is a core task of the NFDI and of NFDI4Culture in particular – but how can the quality of research data be evaluated in a sound and transparent manner? NFDI4Culture is developing an approach for the metric assessment of the quality of cultural data, which aims to raise the data quality in the synopsis of various repositories as well as national and pan-European players such as the Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek, NFDI4Objects, the European Open Science Cloud and Europeana.

With this in mind, NFDI4Culture is opening the online forum ‘Measuring the quality of cultural data – but how?’ on 19/20 May 2025 for operators of data platforms and repositories who are faced with fundamental questions about indicators, checking and ensuring their data quality, but also for representatives from the scientific community who are interested in integrating their data with good quality into corresponding services. Concepts, methods, potentials and the NFDI4Culture approach to data quality in data information portals and repositories as well as data integration into the Culture Knowledge Graph can be discussed in a joint exchange on current perspectives on measuring cultural data quality.

GHGA-Workshop auf der GfH 2025: Fortschritte in Deutschlands Genommmedizin

Beim diesjährigen Jahreskongress der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Humangenetik (GfH) veranstaltete GHGA einen gut besuchten Workshop mit dem Titel „Das Deutsche Modellprojekt Genomsequenzierung: Genomische Medizin in Versorgung und Forschung“. Die Sitzung brachte Expert*innen und Interessierte zusammen, um über die Zukunft humaner Genomdaten in Forschung und Gesundheitswesen zu diskutieren – insbesondere im Hinblick auf die Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem Modellprojekt genomDE und GHGA. GHGA Workshop at GfH 2025: Advancing Genomic Medicine in Germany

At this year’s annual meeting of the German Society for Human Genetics (GfH), GHGA hosted a well-attended workshop titled “The German Model Project Genome Sequencing: Genomic Medicine in Healthcare and Research”. The session brought together experts and participants to discuss the future of human genomic data in research and healthcare, with a focus on the connection between the genomDE Model Project and GHGA. Citizen Science trifft NFDI4Health

NFDI4Health verfolgt im Arbeitsbereich Citizen Science die Frage, wie Bürger:innen und Patient:innen aktiv in Forschungs- und Vermittlungsprozesse eingebunden werden können. Dafür fördert NFDI4Health nun die Entwicklung eines Konzepts für partizipative Forschung im Umgang mit Gesundheitsdaten in einem Workshop mit der HAW Hamburg und der MHH Hannover. Citizen Science meets NFDI4Health

NFDI4Health explores, within the area of Citizen Science, how citizens and patients can be actively involved in research and communication processes. To this end, NFDI4Health is now supporting the development of a concept for participatory research in the handling of health data through a workshop with HAW Hamburg and MHH Hannover. KonsortSWD-Infoveranstaltung: „Daten sicher teilen – Landkarte der Möglichkeiten“

Das Teilen von Daten ist in den letzten Jahren immer stärker in den Fokus gerückt – sei es aufgrund des E-Government-Gesetzes (EGovG), der Datenstrategie des Bundes oder eigener Überlegungen, bisher unzugängliche Daten für die Forschung nutzbar zu machen.

Im Rahmen der Informationsveranstaltung „Daten sicher teilen – Landkarte der Möglichkeiten“ – werden Vertreter*innen von KonsortSWD, des Kompetenzzentrums Open Data des Bundesverwaltungsamtes, der Geschäftsstelle des Rats für Sozial- und Wirtschaftsdaten sowie des RKI sich dieser Thematik widmen. Die Vorträge beleuchten die Rahmenbedingungen und stellen vor, welche Möglichkeiten des Daten Teilens bestehen – von der Gründung eines Forschungsdatenzentrums (FDZ) bis zur Publikation über Open Data Repositorien.

KonsortSWD information event: ‘Sharing data securely – map of possibilities’

Sharing data has increasingly become the focus of attention in recent years – be it due to the E-Government Act (EGovG), the federal government’s data strategy or our own considerations to make previously inaccessible data usable for research.

Representatives from KonsortSWD, the Federal Office of Administration’s Open Data Competence Centre, the office of the German Data Forum (RatSWD) and the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) will address this topic at the information event ‘Sharing data securely – a map of possibilities’. The presentations will shed light on the framework conditions and present the possibilities of data sharing – from the establishment of a research data centre (RDC) to publication via open data repositories. The event will be held in German.

Einführung in grundlegende Aspekte der Digitalität und Datenkultur in den Geschichts- und historisch arbeitenden Geisteswissenschaften.“ soll Historiker:innen, die Interesse an der Einbindung digitaler Arbeitstechniken und Methoden in ihre Forschungsarbeit aber noch keine Erfahrung damit haben, ein grundlegender Einstieg ermöglicht werden. Introduction to basic aspects of digitality and data culture in the historical and historically working humanities“, the aim is to provide a basic introduction for historians who are interested in integrating digital working techniques and methods into their research work but have no experience with them.
