Free membership of the association Nationale Forschungsdateninfrastruktur (NFDI) e.V. offers numerous benefits for your organisation:
- Participate in actively shaping the strategic development of the German National Research Data Infrastructure by joining the NFDI Association.
- Make your contribution to the establishment of comprehensive research data management in Germany and help to increase the efficiency of the scientific system.
- Work together on cross-cutting issues in the NFDI sections.
- Take part in meetings of the Member Assembly of the NFDI Association with voting rights.
- Participate in relevant dialogues on political decisions at national and international level.
- Become part of a large network and benefit from synergy effects.

Membership requirements
The association Nationale Forschungsdateninfrastruktur (NFDI) e.V. is open to legal entities
- that are part of a DFG-funded consortium,
- or part of a consortium initiative that is applying for funding,
- that feel connected to the purpose of the association and can make a significant contribution to it.
Membership admission process
If your organisation would like to become part of the NFDI Association, please send us the completed membership application electronically in advance to info@nfdi.de. To enable us to check your membership application, please send us the printed and signed document by post.
Upon receipt, the membership application will be checked by the NFDI office and submitted to the Board of Trustees, which will decide on admission to the association. We will inform you by e-mail and letter as soon as a decision has been made on your membership application.
